The Products page lists the catalog Remark imported from your store. Use it to check a product’s details, see how often the agent recommends it, and publish or unpublish products. Remark excludes unpublished products from AI recommendations and knowledge. Remark builds the catalog from your commerce integration or from your own imports: Every team member can browse Products. Publishing and unpublishing products, running Import products, and the drawer’s Reviews tab require the Integrations & products permission. See Team member permissions.

Product list

Open Products in the dashboard. The Published and Unpublished tabs split the catalog by publish state. Each row also has a View metafields button that opens the product’s metafields.

Search, filter, and sort

Type in Search products to find products. On the Published tab with no filters or sort applied, Remark returns up to 50 matches ranked by relevance, matching on meaning as well as exact words. On the Unpublished tab, or with a filter or sort applied, search matches product names. Use the filter button to narrow the list: Once your workspace has product reviews, team members with Integrations & products also see Sort by reviews, with Most reviews and Fewest reviews.

Product drawer

Select a product to open the product drawer. The drawer header shows the product’s stock status and how many times the agent recommended it, with a link to those conversations. From the drawer, you can:
  • Move to the previous or next product in the list with the arrow buttons, or press Shift+↑ and Shift+↓
  • Share the page URL, which opens the same product and tab
  • Open More actions to select View on site, Publish, or Unpublish, and to see when the product last changed
The drawer has these tabs:

Details tab

Use Variant to switch between the base product and one of its variants. If a variant has no images of its own, the drawer shows the base product’s images. Select the copy button beside an external ID to copy it. The base product view also shows these sections:
  • Size chart shows the linked chart with a Ready, Processing, or Failed status, the converted chart or its conversion error, and View source PDF. See Size charts.
  • Tags lists the product’s tags. Tags in your brand color are visible to the agent, and neutral tags aren’t. Select a tag to filter the product list to that tag. When a product has more than 15 tags, select the link below them to show the rest.
  • Questions links to the inline activator questions for this product. Select Manage questions for this product to open the Questions page filtered to the product.
  • Metafields expands to show the product’s metafields.

Product tags

Remark imports product tags from your commerce platform or product feed. The agent sees a product’s visible tags in its search results and can filter its searches by them. Hidden tags stay available to the Tags filter in the product list. The drawer’s Tags section shows which tags are visible. To change which tags the agent can use, contact support@remark.ai.

Metafields

Metafields are custom product fields that Remark imported with your catalog, such as materials, care instructions, or class schedules. Open them in either place:
  • Select View metafields on a product row to open the product’s Metafields page.
  • Expand Metafields in the drawer’s Details tab.
Each metafield shows its name, its key, and the imported value. Metafields are read-only in the dashboard. Product feeds set them with meta: fields (see Metafields). For Shopify stores, Remark imports the Shopify metafields configured for your workspace. Contact support@remark.ai to add one.

Publish and unpublish products

Unpublishing keeps a product in your catalog and removes it from AI recommendations and knowledge. To change one product:
  1. Open the product drawer.
  2. Open More actions and select Unpublish, then confirm. To publish an unpublished product, select Publish.
The product moves to the other tab, and the drawer stays open on it. To change several products, select their checkboxes in the list. Select Unpublish on the Published tab, or Publish on the Unpublished tab.
Imports can change the publish state again. On Shopify stores, each import publishes products that are published in Shopify. Product feeds change the state for any row that includes publishedAt. To keep a product out of recommendations, unpublish it at the source as well.

Import products

Workspaces connected to Shopify see Import products at the top of the page. Select it to re-import your catalog from Shopify right away. The button shows Importing products until the import finishes. Remark also re-imports Shopify catalogs every day, so use the button when a change in Shopify needs to reach Remark sooner. See Shopify product sync. For other platforms, run imports through the Product import API or SFTP.

Troubleshooting

A product is missing

Check the Unpublished tab and clear any filters. If the product isn’t there, check the import. For Shopify, see Products are missing in Remark. For product feeds, check the import job’s errors in Product import.

Price shows a dash

The list and drawer show USD prices. A product without a USD price shows a dash.

A product you unpublished is published again

An import restored its publish state from your store or feed. Unpublish the product at the source. On Shopify, you can also give the product a tag listed in Archive products with tags, which archives it in Remark on the next import. See Shopify dashboard settings.

The Reviews tab or review controls are missing

The Reviews tab, the Review summary column and filter, and Sort by reviews require the Integrations & products permission. Sort by reviews also needs at least one product review in your workspace.

Metafields are empty

The drawer and the Metafields page show No metafields have been imported for this product when the import carried no metafields for it. For product feeds, confirm the keys use the meta: prefix.
  • Use Product import to send products, metafields, and inventory from your own systems.
  • Use Size charts to attach sizing data to products.
  • Use Questions to manage the starter questions on product pages.
  • Use Inbox to review the conversations where the agent recommended a product.
