Where settings live
Use Persona Studio for how Remark agents speak, and use Intents for scenario-specific agent playbooks. Widget settings change the shopper-facing surfaces around the conversation.
Appearance
The Appearance page controls shared theming for the floating chat widget and the inline activator.
The preview panel includes Chat and Activator tabs. Check both tabs before saving theme changes, especially when changing color scheme, button color, font size, padding, or border roundness.
Custom CSS
Use custom CSS only when the dashboard settings are not specific enough. Custom CSS rules must targetremark-chat-widget or remark-qa-activator in their selectors.
For SDK-level styling details, see Styling & Theming.
Chat settings
The Chat page controls the floating chat widget.
Use a solid-color PNG with a transparent background for the activator icon. The dashboard tints the icon to match your widget color, and uploads must be 5 MB or smaller.
If the floating button is selected, the dashboard uses left or right placement. Center placement is available for the text bar activator.
Inline activator
The Inline activator page controls the embedded Remark surface that appears inside page content.
In Inline interaction mode, conversations continue inside the embedded activator. In Handoff mode, activator interactions open the floating chat widget. When Inline activator only is enabled, conversations stay inline even if handoff mode is selected, and pages without the inline anchor show no Remark chat surface.
Activator questions
Activator questions are the prompts shown in the inline activator. You can manage questions at three levels:
All active questions rotate in the inline activator by default. Low-performing questions are automatically archived. You can lock up to three questions so they always appear in the inline activator.
For each question, you can:
- Add, edit, duplicate, archive, or restore the question
- Choose the question icon
- Lock or unlock the question’s position
- Reorder locked questions
- View sales and engagement rates
- View an answer when one has been generated
- Mark an answer incorrect so it will not be used in future responses
Labels
The Labels page customizes shopper-facing text in the chat widget and inline activator. Label overrides apply per language and take effect immediately for new sessions. Use labels for UI copy such as placeholders, buttons, status messages, prompt text, and inline activator prompt icons. The label editor includes:- A searchable label tree
- An Overrides only filter
- One row per supported language
- Token previews for labels that include dynamic values
- Prompt label and icon editing
- Auto-translate when a source override is available
- Reset to restore default labels
- Discard and Save changes for pending edits
