# Showcases

> Generate styled product showcases, configure how they look, and review live try-on sessions in the Remark dashboard.

A showcase is an AI-generated image that places several of your products together in one styled scene, such as an outfit laid out for a weekend trip or a reading nook furnished with your pieces. Agents create showcases during shopper conversations and share them in chat. The shopper can hover over each product in the image to view its name and price, open its product page, or add it to the cart.

Live try-on lets a shopper view an item on themselves through their camera. The item follows the shopper as they move, like a mirror, for a 30-second session. Afterward, the shopper can replay the session, switch colors, add the item to their cart, or ask a follow-up question.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Showcases and live try-on appear when they're enabled for your workspace. Contact `support@remark.ai` to turn them on.

Open **Showcases** from the dashboard navigation. The page has two tabs:

| Tab | What it shows |
| - | - |
| **Image showcases** | Showcases generated in shopper conversations, in the [Playground](/dashboard/playground.md), and from the dashboard. |
| **Live try-ons** | Try-on sessions shoppers start from your storefront, with what they tried on, how long they watched, and where the session led. |

## Permissions

## How agents share showcases

Agents create showcases through two [actions](/dashboard/actions.md) that you add to an [intent](/dashboard/intents.md):

| Action | What the agent does |
| - | - |
| **Start a product showcase** | Starts generating a showcase from products in the conversation. Any scene, setting, or mood the shopper describes goes into the request. |
| **Share a product showcase** | Posts the finished showcase in the conversation with a short message about the products. |

For example, a styling intent can tell the agent to recommend a few pieces for the shopper's trip, start a showcase with them, and share it when it's ready. The agent keeps chatting while the image generates. In the Playground, the showcase finishes before the agent replies, so you can test the whole flow in one turn.

Showcases follow the brand aesthetic and references you set under [Configure](#configure-image-generation). When a shopper asks for a scene outside your brand's look, Remark keeps the image on-brand and generates its own take on the idea. Showcases include only published products.

Agents share only showcases created in the same conversation. Showcases you generate from the dashboard stay in the dashboard.

A shared showcase shows a **Made for you** header with the item count, an **AI Styled** badge, and a marker on each product. Hovering a marker shows the product's image, name, variant, price, and a link to the product page. When the chat widget can add to your store's cart, selecting a marker adds the product to the cart. Shared showcases also appear in the conversation in the [Inbox](/dashboard/inbox.md). To restyle them on your storefront, use the parts listed under [Presented Showcases](/sdk/styling.md#presented-showcases).

## Image showcases

The **Image showcases** tab lists showcases newest first. Each card shows the generated title, the source, the number of products, and when the showcase was created. A check badge marks showcases an agent presented to a shopper.

| Filter | Options |
| - | - |
| Status | **Success**, **In progress**, **Failed** |
| Source | **Chat**, **Manual**, **Playground**, **Workflow** |
| Conversion | **Attributed**, **Converted**, **No conversion** |
| Product | A product included in the showcase |
| Date range | When the showcase was created |

Conversion comes from the conversation the showcase was created in. **Attributed** means an order was attributed to that conversation, and **Converted** means the shopper placed an order, attributed or not. **No conversion** also includes showcases with no conversation, such as manual and Playground showcases. Turn on **Show archived** to include archived showcases.

### Generate a showcase

Generate a showcase to preview how products look together or to test changes to your [configuration](#configure-image-generation).

1. Open **Showcases** and select **Generate**.
2. Under **Products**, search for a product and select one or more of its variants. You can pick up to 4 variants.
3. Under **Reference image**, choose how Remark styles the scene:
   * **None**: Remark composes a scene from the products and your brand aesthetic.
   * **Auto**: Remark picks a matching image from your reference library, or uses no reference when nothing fits.
   * **Pick from library**: You choose a reference from your library.
   * **Upload an image**: You upload a JPG or PNG up to 5MB for this showcase only.
4. Optionally, change the **Aspect ratio**. **Default** uses your saved default, and **Auto** lets Remark choose based on the products.
5. Optionally, describe the scene under **Context**, for example "on a cabin porch at dusk".
6. Select **Generate showcase**.

The showcase page opens while the image generates and shows each step as it completes: **Resolving inputs**, **Preparing generation**, **Curating composition**, **Rendering image**, and **Finalizing**.

### Review a showcase

Select a showcase to open it. The status badge reads **Pending**, **Generating**, **Ready**, **Presented to customer**, or **Failed**, and any context entered for the showcase appears under the title.

| Section | What it shows |
| - | - |
| Image | The generated image, with a marker on each product. Select a marker to compare the product's original image with how it appears in the scene. |
| **Products** | The variants in the showcase, plus the reference image when one was used. |
| **Details** | **Source**, **Created**, **Aspect ratio**, and **Reference**. A **Chat** or **Playground** source links to the conversation it came from. |
| **Timing** | How long each generation step took. |
| **Curator prompt** | The prompt Remark wrote to draw the image. |

Select **Regenerate** to open the generate form with this showcase's inputs filled in. Adjust any input and submit to compare the two results. Use the arrows beside **Archive** to move to the previous or next showcase.

### Archive a showcase

Select **Archive** to hide a showcase from the list. If an agent already shared it, the shopper's conversation shows **This image is no longer available** in its place. Select **Unarchive** to restore it.

## Configure image generation

Select **Configure** on the **Image showcases** tab to set the defaults Remark uses for every showcase, including the ones agents create in chat. Changes apply to showcases generated afterward.

| Section | What it controls |
| - | - |
| **Generation defaults** | **Default aspect ratio** and **Default reference**. **Pin one** uses the **Pinned reference** you choose from the library for every showcase. Choices made for a single showcase override these defaults. |
| **Reference library** | Brand photos Remark can base a scene on. |
| **Brand aesthetic** | Free-form guidance Remark applies to every showcase, such as lighting, materials, palette, and mood. |

Select **Save changes** after editing the generation defaults or brand aesthetic.

### Reference library

Select **Add reference** and upload a JPG or PNG up to 5MB. Then fill in:

* **Description**: The scene, lighting, mood, and intended context. Remark reads it when picking a reference for **Auto** showcases.
* **Integration notes** (optional): How products belong in the scene, for example "products go on the wood console, not the marble counter".
* **Tags**: Comma-separated keywords that help Remark match references to products and intents.

Select **Edit** on a reference to change these fields or select **Delete** to remove it. To use a different image, add a reference and delete the old one.

## Live try-ons

Shoppers start live try-on from a **Try It On** button on product pages that offer it. Before the camera turns on, live try-on shows a biometric data disclosure and asks the shopper to confirm they're 18 or older and to consent to the processing of their biometric data. The shopper's browser remembers the consent. For details, see [Privacy & ADA Compliance](/guides/privacy-ADA-compliance.md).

The **Live try-ons** tab lists sessions newest first. Each card shows the item tried on, how long the shopper watched, and when the session started. Sessions that ended before finishing show **Incomplete**.

Filter sessions by **Status** (**Completed**, **Incomplete**, **Failed**), **Conversion**, **Product**, and date range. Turn on **Show archived** to include archived sessions.

Select a session to open its **Engagement** summary:

| Field | What it shows |
| - | - |
| **Product** and **Variant** | The item tried on, linked to the product |
| **Watched** | How long the shopper watched |
| **Ended** | **Closed by shopper**, **Reached time limit**, **Ended on error**, **Camera blocked**, **Lost connection**, or **Left the page** |
| **Shopper** | A link to the shopper's profile |
| **Conversation** | A link to the conversation, when the shopper had a chat open during the session |
| **Started** | When the session began |

The session page keeps only this summary and doesn't include a recording. Archive or unarchive a session the same way as an image showcase.

A session that happens during an open chat appears in that conversation's timeline in the Inbox as a **Live view** event. When a shopper watches a completed try-on for at least 3 seconds and orders within your attribution period without chatting, Remark attributes the order with the method **Virtual Try On**. A chat with the shopper takes priority over a try-on.

### Check product readiness

Open [Products](/dashboard/products.md), select a product, and select the **Live try-on** tab to check whether it's prepared. Use the **Variant** menu to check a single variant.

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Ready** | The product or variant has a garment cutout selected for try-on. |
| **Variant-specific** | Variants use different cutouts. Select a variant to inspect its cutout. |
| **Preparing** | Preparation is running. |
| **Not prepped** | The product hasn't been prepared yet. |
| **Not eligible** | Remark evaluated the product and found it unsuitable for live try-on. |
| **No images** | The product has no images to prepare. |
| **No reference** | Remark evaluated the product but found no usable cutout. |

The tab also shows the garment cutout made from each product image, labeled **Cutout ready**, **Image evaluated**, or **Image not evaluated**.

A ready product offers live try-on only after the Remark team launches it. The Remark team prepares products, regenerates cutouts, and can launch a product as a draft so you can preview it on your storefront before shoppers get access. Contact `support@remark.ai` to change which products offer live try-on or to fix a cutout.

## Storefront events

The chat widget fires these events when shoppers interact with showcases and live try-on. Listen for them to send the interactions to your analytics. See [List of Remark Events](/sdk/advanced.md#list-of-remark-events) for how to listen and the full event list.

| Event | Fires when |
| - | - |
| `remark:click-showcase-product` | A shopper selects a product link in a shared showcase's hover card |
| `remark:add-showcase-product-to-cart` | A shopper adds a product from a shared showcase to the cart |
| `remark:select-live-try-on` | A shopper opens live try-on from the try-on prompt beside the suggested questions |
| `remark:add-live-try-on-product-to-cart` | A shopper adds the item they tried on to the cart from the end of a live try-on |

Showcase events include `showcaseId`, `productId`, and `productName` in `event.detail`. The live try-on cart event includes `productId`, `variantId`, `productName`, and `quantity`.

## Troubleshooting

### Showcases doesn't appear in the dashboard

Showcases appears only for workspaces where it's enabled. Contact `support@remark.ai` to turn it on.

### The agent doesn't share showcases

Check that the intent includes both **Start a product showcase** and **Share a product showcase**, that its instructions say when to use them, and that the intent's **Production** switch is on. Test the intent in the Playground first.

### A showcase failed

Open the showcase to read the error under **Generation failed**, then select **Regenerate** to try again with the same or adjusted inputs.

### A product or variant can't be selected

The product search lists only published products. A variant can't be selected when neither it nor its product has an image.

### A shopper sees "This image is no longer available"

The showcase was archived. Open it and select **Unarchive** to restore it.

### A product doesn't offer live try-on

Open the product's **Live try-on** tab and check its status. Contact `support@remark.ai` to prepare or launch it.
